Sundays
Sunday Worship Service at 10:00 am – Our 10 am Service is a traditional Methodist service. Our choir and music director lead us in music from the hymnal. We recite the Apostle’s Creed and say the Lord’s Prayer together. We hear a sermon grounded in the Word of God. Everything we do in the service is in our Order of Worship, which you can pick up from a greeter in the Narthex (sanctuary lobby) before the service. On the first Sunday of every month, we receive Holy Communion. We have an “open table,” which means that anyone is welcome to receive, regardless of religious affiliation. All you need is a heart open to Christ.
Even though our 10am service is traditional, we are a come as you are church. Meaning you will see church members and visitors alike dresses in a mix of business attire and casual clothes. Please join us in the clothes that you feel comfortable in!
Kids’ Activities During Worship
Children’s Church – Children’s Church is for 4-year-olds through grade 5. It happens every Sunday except First Sunday, when we receive Communion. Bring your child to worship with you, and Children’s Church participants will be dismissed before the sermon to go with their leaders to Children’s Church, located in Rooms 104-105 (classrooms between sanctuary and chapel). They do a craft and have a Bible lesson. Parents/ guardians can pick them up there after the service.
Wednesday Nights
Wednesday Night Chapel at 5:15 pm – During the school year, we meet in our chapel for a simple 20-minute service with prayer, song, devotional, and Communion. Following chapel, we go to the Fellowship Hall for Wednesday Night Supper. We do not offer nursery during Chapel, but little ones are welcome!
Special Services
Throughout the year, we have special services including Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. Check the church calendar, e-news, and social media for more info.

About Us
First Methodist Church has been a part of the Bay Minette community since the late 1800's. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly. Through our church family, we are making a positive difference in our community by being made one with Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world. Our church is a place of worship and fellowship in Christ's love. We welcome you to be a part of our family!
What We Believe
Our Beliefs can be summarized by pointing out three things. First, we believe that the Bible is the Word of God. Next, we believe in the Apostles Creed and let it summarize our basic beliefs as Christians. Last but not least, as Methodists we agree with and hold ourselves to the Global Methodist Church Book of Discipline. More information expanding on this is listed below.
Global Methodist Church
We are proud to be a part of the Global Methodist Church and as such we adhere to the Global Methodist Book of Discipline. To learn more about the Global Methodist Church please click the link below.
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
