Here are some of the activities and organizations we are involved in. We love Bay Minette, and we want to partner with others to show the love of Christ to everyone in our town.
Embrace Alabama Kids (Formerly United Methodist Children’s Home)
Since 1890, United Methodist Children’s Home has stood in the gap for the most vulnerable children. More than 130 years later, they have rebranded, and their commitment has only strengthened. Embrace Alabama Kids provides homes, healing, and hope to children from families throughout the state and in the Florida panhandle in crisis who are no longer able to live with their families due to possible neglect, abuse, or abandonment.
Among the other ministries offered by Embrace Alabama Kids are Transitional Homes for youth leaving a foster care residential setting but who may not have fully developed the independent living skills necessary to flourish on their own; Higher Education Homes for students attending the University of Alabama or The University of North Alabama; Babies First Home for teenage unwed mothers; Overton Home for children with autism whose parents are faced with the overwhelming challenge in caring for them; Mary Ellen’s Hearth a home for homeless mothers and children.
Ecumenical Association Food Pantry
The Ecumenical Association Food Pantry is a ministry of the churches in Bay Minette. The ministry offers a food pantry to assist those needing meals. In addition, the ministry offers assistance to North Baldwin residents (North of I-10) facing financial difficulties to pay essential services (rent, utilities, medical).
Under His Wings
Under His Wings was founded in 2011 by a group of people concerned about teenage girls in crisis. It is a residential home for girls in Baldwin County – helping to fill a gap in social services while redirecting and transforming lives. They provide a loving Christian home for teenage girls of trauma, connect them to who they are in the eyes of God, and equip them with life skills essential to wholeness.
