Senior Pastor
Wilson Newell
Wilson is a native of Mobile and a 2014 graduate of Auburn University with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. He received his Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, in 2020. Before joining us at FMC Bay Minette he served at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church in Mobile, where he has served as Pastor of Discipleship & Missions since 2023. Wilson is married to Olivia Newell, who is a Nurse Practitioner at the University of South Alabama Children and Women’s Hospital, and they have three daughters and are expecting a fourth child in November.
Music Director
Mike Johnson
Mike has been a member of First Methodist Bay Minette for many years. He and his wife Linda are active members of the church and our choir. Mike is a joy to be around and is always bringing a smile to everyones face on Sunday mornings.
Accompanist
Lydia Van Cleave
Lydia has recently joined our team and we are so happy to have her on staff. She has been working as a church accompanist for five years, and has been playing the piano for most of her life. She has a passion for serving the Lord through music, and has more recently fallen in love with playing the organ. If she’s not sitting behind a keyboard, Lydia has probably gone for a long walk on the beach. Lydia is currently a student at the University of South Alabama pursuing a degree in Piano Performance.

Marcia Nicholson
Marcia has been a beloved part of our church staff for more than forty years. She has a love for children that is unmatched and has rocked many generations of our babies. Whether she has known you since you were a child or met you five minutes ago she will take care of your baby like it’s one of her own.
